• Tellez K9 uses reward based training. Our goal is to strengthen the bond between you and your dog and making your dog see you as the most important thing the world. We reward what we like and correct/punish what we don’t.
This sets Tellez K9 apart from compulsive trainers/dominance based trainers that force dogs to do commands with compulsion and positive only/force free trainers that rely heavily on food to get dogs to focus and never set the dog up for success in the real world. Behavioral issues are addressed to what an individual dog needs, and we use the training tool(s) that makes communication clear with your dog.

  • Bring a collar that fits appropriately (you should be able to barely fit two fingers in your dog’s collar to avoid it being too tight or too loose), a 6 foot leash, and food (with food pouch) or a toy (tug or ball on a string). If anything else is needed you will be notified before the training session, or after the first training session.

  • You should expect to train at least 2 or 3 times a day (5-10 minutes each session). This could be in the morning, on your lunch break, or after work for example. Then add more time as your engagement improves.

  • Every session is an hour long.

Basic Obedience (6 Lessons) - Sit, down, recall (dog comes when called), drop it/leave it, walking on a loose leash, and extended down/sit under distractions.

Advanced Obedience (12 Lessons) - Obedience on and off leash.

Puppy Training Package (6 Lessons) - Setting up new puppy owners for success. This package goes over crate training, potty training, playing, obedience, and any other questions you may have.

  • Unlike many of our competitors, we do not use compulsion to force obedience. We want to build a relationship your dog as they learn the foundations of obedience. We strive for fun, engaging, and powerful obedience. We only ever use corrections once a dog fully understands a command (after hundreds of reps!) and this is simply to proof it. This also sets us apart from positive only trainers that only teach obedience in a controlled environment and never in the real world.
